Spread the Joy with Food      Free Meals at the Ashram Kitchen On a regular day, more than 20,000 free satvik (fresh and nutritious) meals are prepared in the ashram kitchen. These nutritious meals are enjoyed by a wide variety of people, from ashram’s school children to visitors. Before every meal in the ashram, we normally bless the food by saying, Annadata Sukhi Bhav which translates to May the food-giver be happy.  The term Annadata or food-giver includes everyone who is responsible for putting food on our plate – this includes the farmer who grew the food to the person who served it to you in the kitchen.   Be an Agent of Joy You too can be a blessing in someone’s life by bringing them the joy of satvik food. Even though our Ashram kitchen operates and functions on a mega scale, it runs completely on generous donations. Link to Ashram Mega Kitchen – our Ashram video or the one from National Geographic   Note: Cost of a single meal is Rs. 125/-, minimum number of meals is 5. While entering no of meals a field below ‘Donation Amount(INR)’ should show the amount (number of meals * 125).
The donation amount will be used towards “Anna-Daan for Auspicious Days” project. This project is an initiative of VVMVP providing opportunity to contribute for free holistic meals served in VVMVP kitchen for everyone on auspicious days.

The Bangalore Ashram was not built in a day. Founded in 1986 with just a few tiny dwelling places, a small kitchen, a lovely little mantap, and a meditation hall, it used to be the perfect size to accommodate the visitors, and the volunteers back then. Fast forward to 2016, the Ashram has grown in accordance with the hundred thousands of people visiting it every year. In fact, every year the influx of visitors to the ashram is near-doubling. Why Must the Ashram Grow and Expand?
To accommodate these growing numbers of visitors, volunteers, and course participants, the ashram must accordingly grow and expand. After all, ashram is everyone’s home and home is the place that welcomes all.

Support the Upkeep of Indigenous Cows

Support the Upkeep and Preservation of Indigenous Cows The Ashram Gaushala was set up with the aim of preserving pure breeds. From more than a hundred varieties of cows in India there are now only 30 varieties today. And did you know we have currently over 500 hundred indigenous cows? The Gaushala houses 10 different breeds such as the Ongol from Andhra Pradesh, Kangayan from Tamil Nadu, the Gir from Gujarat and the Sahiwal from Punjab. The Gaushala also provides a model for reviving and promoting organic, zero budget farming, thereby diverting the Indian farmer from a life of hardship and debt. The goal is to reach 1000 cows by the end of 2017, and 2000 Indigenous Cows by end of 2018. For this we need all help and support to care for the cows Gau daan (Donate a Cow): This is considered the highest form of daan (donation) in the Indian tradition. Have you visited the Ashram Gaushala? Doesn’t the energy there uplift you instantly? For many visitors, the Gaushala is one of the topmost favorite places in the ashram, just for its serene atmosphere, and friendly cows. And did you know we have more than a hundred purebred cows in the ashram from different indigenous breeds?
